Setting up an APN profile on a Huawei EE3372 LTE Device

In order for your device to connect successfully to iONLINE’s APN solution on a Huawei device, you are required to setup a APN profile on each device the simcard will be used in. In this guide we will be connecting to iONLINE default APN (ionline.co.za). You are required to use your APN name if you do not use the default ionline.co.za APN which is chosen when purchasing the APN solution from us.

NB: Please have the correct APN Details on hand for the specific Simcard you will be using.

  1. Make sure your modem or router is connected to your PC/laptop and open a browser.
  2. In your browser type in your routers IP address in the address bar to go to the management page. By default, Huawei is set to 192.168.8.1.
  3. Click on the Mobile Network page.
  4. On the Mobile Networks page, click on the + icon next to profiles in order to add a new profile.
  5. In the new profile section enter in a profile name. We called ours “iONLINE” but it can be anything. Under APN set the APN to your APN Address. iONLINE’s Default APN is “ionline.co.za” however If you have your own Cloud APN please use the APN address given to you or contact your IT Administrator to get the correct APN Name. Leave username and password blank. Click Save.
  6. You will now see your APN is set as the newly created APN as “default”.
  7. Navigate back to the device / router homepage.
  8. Ensure your mobile data is enabled and you can see a successful connection.

You have successfully setup the unit to connect to your Could APN. If you do however have any issues accessing the internet or connecting to the APN, please contact your IT department or alternatively you can contact iONLINE support in order to assist with the APN connection troubleshooting.
