A domain name may have a maximum of 63 characters (letters, numbers, dashes) plus the 4 characters for the extensions such as [.co.za]. This allows a domain name (including the extension) to be 67 characters long.
Note: It is generally a good idea to have the shortest domain name possible as your customers/visitors may find it easier to type.
